An iconic motif that has worldwide recognition, BurberryÕs Vintage check was used solely as trench coat lining in the 1920s. But one of the HouseÕs buyers in Paris had a stroke of genius in 1967, when she cut the lining out of the coats and wrapped it around luggage and umbrellas. What resulted are the quintessential Burberry accessories that we know and love today, like these contemporary printed slides where the check is rendered in a darker hue.
